- Visit to the library
- Research time
- Speech presentations
Hello East House. This is Yareli, again. Today was a relatively simple day, except for the long walk up to the library! As soon as we got to the library, we were asked to check-in with JD and show him our library card, yep, our first grade for the day. Afterwards, we were given simple instructions by Mrs. Ortega and started research. The CalPoly library system had all sorts of technical difficulties. For one, the librarians had to check out our books manually, like in the old days, sounds like a hustle! Second of all, we could not look for books in the databases; therefore some of people had to use some dictionary-looking books to find the books we needed. It took forever to get the call numbers! Personally, I just went floor to floor, looking at all of the shelves until finally, on the 5th floor; I found the books that I needed, yay!
Since all of the groups had been assigned “meeting” times to present their speeches to Mrs. Ortega, we had to be in the room, ready to present. I think the presentations went smoothly since I was not in the room for most of them. At least they are over. Poor Mrs. Ortega, she had to listen to 120 of those! Actually 119…Regardless, I hope you all did well. Remember you were graded on content, delivery and time. I barely finished my speech before she stopped me! I ducked one there! Make sure you all take her comments into consideration and make revisions to your speeches to make them the best they can be.
Oh, and have fun in the first actual day of Model Assembly!
Well, goodnight East House.
